"Throwback" by Maurene Goo

It's been a while since I read a Young Adult book, and it was good to mix it up and have an easier read. Throwback by Maurene Goo gave me just that, and I liked everything about it.
It was a cute, mindless, easy read I had been looking for. As you dive deeper into the story, you can also see the meaning behind the book, which will get the reader thinking.
Meet Sam! She is a senior in high school with a best friend, boyfriend, and unsure of what she wants to do the rest of her life after she graduates. Sam has a great relationship with her grandmother, but has always struggled to maintain a relationship with her mom as the pair don't have much in common or agree on a lot of things.
When her grandmother is admitted to the hospital and Sam and her mom get into a fight, she is forced to take a ride share called Throwback Rides, which transports her back to 1995, and she is tasked with helping her high school mom run for Homecoming Queen.
The book has all the funny time travel incidents, and I was laughing at some of the '90s references, but mixed into the fun and laughter, Sam learns lessons along the way that she will grow from.
Throwback by Maurene Goo is a Young Adult novel for any age.
