"Blue Sisters"

I had heard great things about this novel, everyone seemed to be talking about it so I was excited to read Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors.
When I first started the novel it wasn't the writing style I typically like or would call an easy read for me but I liked it and was enjoying the book. That changed toward the middle of the book as the story started to slow down and wasn't moving along and I became less interested and started struggling through.
The novel is about three sisters who lost their fourth sister a year ago. At the same time, each sister focuses on their lives and how the loss of a sibling has affected them. The sisters are faced with trauma from a difficult childhood and addiction that runs strong in their family genes.
The novel is not a light easy read but depressing and deals with heavy topics, besides this the story is slow and drawn out at times leaving the reader wondering where the story is going.
On the one hand, I'm glad I read the book and I didn't completely hate it on the other hand I didn't love it and I found it drawn out and slow at times.
Blue Sister by Coco Mellors is one of those books I felt okay with when I finished it.
