"The Hotel Nantucket"

Just in time for my first trip to Nantucket, I dove into my first Elin Hilderbrand book The Hotel Nantucket which did not disappoint. I loved the book and can't wait to read more of her books.

Meet Lizbet Keaton! She has lived on Nantucket all year round since she graduated from college, she is fresh off her break up with JJ O'Malley of 15 years who she helped run his popular restaurant The Deck. While the pair had built success from her marketing that put the restaurant on the map JJ has been sharing explicit texts with their wine rep, for the restaurant causing Lizbet to leave both JJ and The Deck.

Xavier Darling has invested in The Hotel Nantucket a cursed hotel with a long dark history. He has poured $3 million into the hotel and wants to receive the covenant 5th key from blogger and hotel reviewer Shelly Carpenter and impress a mystery woman. Lizbet gets the prestigious job of managing the fancy hotel.

Keaton is the main character in the novel with a cast of characters that make up the hotel's staff without excluding the resident ghost Grace Hadley who has haunted the hotel on Nantucket for centuries. Each character with its own unique back story and reasoning for being on the small New England Island that summer will have you turning the pages.

The book flips between characters as it intertwines their stories and captures the hotel's first successful summer in years. The story is more character-based but is still easy to read and a perfect beach read. You will find yourself rooting for some of the staff members, feeling Lizbet's success, and also disagreeing with some of the characters' behaviors.

The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand is a fun read that has you dreaming of summer in New England feeling like you are staying at a luxury hotel on an island and wanting to read even more Hilderbrand books.
