"It Ends With Us"

This post contains spoiler alerts.
I read and watched It Ends With Us, and I think the book is better than the movie. Before seeing It Ends With Us I wanted to read the book and was excited to see the film after reading it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the movie. The movie did not give all the same feelings and emotions as the book.
In the book in her journal entries, Lilly goes into great detail about her relationship with Atlas and what it was like when they were in high school. While the movie had some flashbacks it never really got into the deep connection the two had as teenagers or how in love they were. I was disappointed in this because I felt it was a large part of the story in the book and that the movie missed out on.
I felt that the book shows more of Lilly's emotional journey and the toll the abuse with Ryle had on her that slowly built up throughout their relationship. The movie shows the relationship with Ryle going fine until all of a sudden he becomes abusive. The viewer doesn't see as much of the emotional journey as the reader does.
One smaller minor gripe I had was that the movie does not follow the same timeline as the book. It bothered me throughout the entire film while I was watching it.
While the book was better than the movie, I recommend reading and watching It Ends With Us.
