One of the things I love about reading or that keeps me reading is finding my next favorite book. Every so often you come across a book that speaks to you or you fall in love with and can't get enough of, when you find those books something magical truly takes place.

I'm not saying that the other books are not worth reading after all how can you compare and know what you truly love reading and dislike reading? There are also plenty of books I suggest to other readers and read again but I would not give them a five-star review or would say they are my favorite books.

Since starting my reading journey I have found plenty of favorite books. This year it took me a little longer to read my first five-star book of the year and I was anxiously waiting and finally found it and loved every minute of it.

Each time I started a new book I kept thinking will this be my new favorite book? I would slowly become weary of my selection as it didn't click or I didn't love the book. I started to feel that maybe I wasn't picking the right book or needed to think about what books I was choosing to read.

Finally, at the end of March, I started listening to John Stamos' memoir If You Would Have Told Me. After the first chapter, I wasn't sold I was going to make it through the book, but the more I listened the more I fell in love, and by the time the book was over it was my first five-star book of the year.

Reading a book you love does something that energizes you and makes you want to read more or find your next favorite book. While I'm always looking for the next great book there is something so special about reading a book you love.

I hope you have already found your first five-star book of the year and if not keep looking, try new genres, authors, and formats because it's out there and that is what is so amazing about a reading journey.
