Doesn't disappoint!

Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson was the first book I listened to on Audible and not only did I fall in love with listening to books but I also fell in love with this novel and the characters.

While most people tend to tell themselves "Well only if I had money, I wouldn't have these problems" the characters in this story are questioning, what if I had less money? Would life be easier not being part of the top 1%?

Pineapple Street is told from three perspectives: Darley, Georgiana, and Sasha. Darley and Georgiana are two sisters brought up in the extremely wealthy fruit neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. While Sasha has married their brother Cord and comes from a middle class family in Rhode Island.

While each woman is faced with their own challenges and issues while the story looks closer at wealth, class and family dynamics which play a large role in each of their lives. The book explores that no matter how wealthy someone is they can still have problems and family drama.

Jenny Jackson writes this book with great detail to each character where you feel that you know them, and when they all get together the reader feels they are sitting at the dinner table with the dysfunctional family. I loved the details of the story, the story lines and how each characters story blurred into another while keeping the common theme of wealth and class.

If you are looking for a good novel to dive into Pineapple Street is for you!
