It's been a rocky start

Okay, before all you Kristin Hannah fans come for me, and I know many of them personally, hear me out.

When I first joined book club before I started my reading journey, the book for the month was The Great Alone, and I couldn't get past the third chapter ( I know), and while everyone raved about it, I didn't say much. Then, a couple of years ago, while I was much farther into my reading journey Night Road was a book club pick. This one I finished, but I struggled and found the book overall depressing, and it was my least favorite book of 2023. After these experiences, I decided that maybe Kristin Hannah's books weren't for me, and my reading was going in a different direction.

Then came The Women everyone was talking about it, and I was hesitant to start the book due to my past experiences and kept putting it off. But then I decided to give it a try, I listened to the book hoping it might give me a new perspective on her writing. And I loved the book, it was a 5-star read for me! Which persuaded me to give her another chance.

With an open mind, I have added some of her other books to my want-to-read list and am ready to do more exploring with her writing. Maybe my mind will be completely changed, maybe I will always be hesitant to start one of her books, or maybe overall, her books won't be for me. Whatever the outcome, this is the adventure of a reading journey, and I'm interested to see where it takes me.
